Originally from Munich, Germany Nicolas was born into the family of composer and Jazz icon Klaus Doldinger, which had great influence on his later works.  His film career started in the UK and Canada where he won several awards for his narrative and documentary productions. To further his career as a producer he moved to New York City in 2008 to attend the MBA in Media Management at Metropolitan College of New York, where he forged alliances that advanced his position in the US film scene.  Subsequently his street gang documentary “A Russian Fairytale” premiered in 2013 at the Moscow documentary festival and has since won multiple awards around the globe before being distributed by Amazon Prime since 2013.

That same year, he founded his New York based production company N-JOY MEDIA LLC. . With his documentary background Nicolas has since established himself as producer and director of outstanding branded content, commercials and virals for brands like Mercedes Benz, BMW, IBM, L’Oreal, Unilever, Deutsches Museum, Astra Zeneca amongst many others.

Previous media clients include CNN, CBS, BBC World, VICE, RTL, NBCUniversal as well as various web outlets like Nowness, Esquire, Gothamist, Shape Magazine and many others.

In 2019, Nicolas shifted his focus back to Europe and founded his Munich base production company EBENHAUS FILM which specialises in documentary, commercials and branded content which due to his Visa Status he can facilitate both in Europe and UK as well as the US.

Since moving to Munich, his focus has also shifted towards narrative work and he has since co-written the official autobiography of his father Klaus Doldinger “MADE IN GERMANY- Mein Leben für die Musik”, which was published by Piper Books in Sept of 2022 and is now in talks to be turned into a Mini-Series.
